Mimijaseri
(perseverance), This is what it took to make it through our 2-day/night
homestay! We experienced everything from authentic African cooking to peeing in
a hole. Dougie even managed to pee on herself (it was a little
dark). Many of us woke up with mosquito nets covering our beds, while
others woke up with chickens on their heads. Dougie enjoyed watching the
cows being milked right before drinking the milk straight from the cow. Abbey
and Caroline got to watch a live chicken being chopped! All in all it was a
very rewarding experience learning about a different culture and meeting new
families. While we loved our homestays, we were very excited to take
showers and come back to warm beds. We are all working on our Swahili and
are making lots of new friends. Tomorrow is Safari; we will be up bright
and early at 5:15 to ensure we see the big cats.
Love
